Earlier this week at the 2010 North American International Auto Show St. Louis rapper Nelly showed off his new 5 liter Mustang GT. According to the New York Times Nelly is working with Ford by giving them feedback on the car.

The Mustang was modified by DUB Magazine  and consists of a 5-liter engine, suede and leather seats, and two 12-inch subwoofers. Nelly even joked about hiring a new legal team because  knows he’s going to get speeding tickets in this car.
This 2010 Mustang GT 5-liter will also be featured on the cover of Nelly’s upcoming album.

CSDW addresses the critical need for clean drinking water around the world.

Through a $500,000 donation, COVERGIRL will provide over 50 million gallons of purified drinking water to needy areas via low-cost, Pur(TM) packet technology that purifies even heavily-contaminated water so it meets World Health Organization standards for safe drinking water. This contribution will provide clean water to more than 3.5 million children for a week or nearly 70,000 for a year.

The two beauties discussed their involvement in the campaign and Dania also discussed her recent trip to her native Dominican Republic to help deliver a year’s supply of clean drinking water to villages in need.

Tamara Wiggins, a single mom traveling with her four daughters, (her 3-month old twins, a 6-year-old & 10-year old) were turned away by Virgin Airlines yesterday over an additional $15 dollar charge for luggage.

After noticing that she forgot her wallet, Tamara reached out to her mother, the one who actually purchased the tickets. Her mother tried to persuade the ticketing agent to allow her to pay an additional $15 by credit card but the woman  wouldn’t authorize the purchase. Tamara and her girls were supposed to be traveling to San Francisco Airport, a 45-minute plane ride from Los Angeles.

Can’t believe that Virgin would turn away a single mother traveling with four small children on Christmas Eve? I mean where is the holiday spirit? The girls missed out on spending Christmas with their grandmother over an additional $15 charge? Consequently they haven’t been able to get a live person on the phone to complain.

Whoa! I was conducting a search today for a client and typed “Happy Africa” into the search field…only to reveal that “Happy African Americans can be found at Target”.  WTH!

We’re not sure it it’s a programming error made by Y!, an advertising affiliate or some random conspiracy against black consumers, however I found it odd and buzzworthy for the season.

I am not even 100% sure if it’s racist, or politically incorrect to suggest that African-Americans shop at Target, cause I know that some do…or to even infer that a more pleasant bunch of African-Americans can be found there…either way, we think the programmers should have paid a lot more attention to these types of errors.

Remember that Planet of The Apes fiasco with Walmart? I doubt this will be as big as that, but it does make one wonder…

The premiere of the Broadway musical about Nigerian musician, composer and political activist, Fela Kuti, took place on Monday night at New York’s Eugene O’Neill Theatre.

Produced by rapper and mogul Jay Z & actor/producer Will Smith, the musical celebrates the life and music of Fela Kuti with music by Antibals Afrobeat Ochestra. Stars such as the rapper Jay-Z, Will Smith, Ben Stiller and Jimmy Fallon, and Spike Lee walked the red carpet for the premiere.

“It’s an inspiration, about the power of music. Here’s a guy that’s on the other side of the world who was influenced by James Brown, who takes this thing and makes his own sort of genre of music. I just think it’s fascinating.” Jay-Z told MTV.

Tyler Perry donated $1 million to the NAACP (National Association for the Advancement of Colored People) to commemorate the 100th anniversary.

This is the largest amount of money any one individual has donated in the  organization’s history. Tyler stated that the work the NAACP has done over years has helped pave the way for his success in the film industry.

Adam Sandler made $55 million in 2008-2009. The former SNL stars movies “Bedtime Stories”, “Funny People” and “You Don’t Mess With The Zohan”,  earned over $413 million at the box office.

Will Smith made over $45 million in 2008-2009, proving that he always delivers a blockbuster hit. Despite the bad reviews on “Hancock,” the film grossed over $623 million at the worldwide box office in July of 2008.  “Seven Pounds,”  another film that critics slept on, earned close to $100 million overseas.

We all now know that Oprah is quitting her billion dollar franchised talk show in 2011 after 25 years of success. We all know want to know what is it that Oprah is going to do now? We know she could spend a million a day and be ok, we all know she does not need to work, but that would not be the Oprah that we know. We found out that Oprah will keep her show ,but she is just moving it to HER cable network, named OWN (Oprah Winfrey Network), which is expected to launch January 2011 and will feature lifestyle’ programs thought up by Oprah and her team. So don’t be sad folks, Oprah just moved down the street to a bigger home.
